Description GEO Prep Academy of Baton Rouge is a tuition-free, public charter school that serves students in grades K-8. Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to providing an outstanding education for students each day as they transition from elementary to middle school to high school and COLLEGE. Our curriculum and teaching methods are designed using Core Knowledge in K-8 and a blended learning model in elementary school through high school. We are a TAP school! REPORTS TO/TERM: Director of SPED This is a 10-month position. Essential Key Functions: A SPED Paraprofessional will perform the following duties: Maintain student service logs Provide service to students Assemble small groups Work individually with students Collaborate with general education teachers Attend all required staff meetings Work as a team member Attend all professional development opportunities Work under the direction of the Resource Teacher Other functions assigned by supervisor Follow all school policies Dress professionally Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: An Associates degree is required, Bachelor’s degree or higher with at least 24 credit hours in content area is preferred At least two years’ experience working with urban children
Responsibilities
The SPED Classroom Assistant will maintain student service logs, provide services to students, and work individually or in small groups. They will collaborate with general education teachers and attend required meetings and professional development.
