REPORTS TO/TERM: Special Education Director This is a 10-month position. Essential Key Functions: A SPED Resource Teacher will perform the following duties: Maintain student service logs Create and modify student lessons Keep daily service logs Conduct small group lessons Provide individual student services Push into general education classrooms Collaborate with classroom teachers Provide services to student as outlined in IEP Write IEPs Meet deadlines Monitor progress Maintain updated service schedule Maintain updated caseload lists Provide accommodations Parental contacts w/documentation Facilitate academic testing Facilitate state testing Communicate suspensions Attend all required staff meetings File state documents in Special Education file and office Other functions assigned by supervisor Follow all school policies Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree or higher with at least 24 credit hours in content area Valid Indiana Teaching License for (K-6) or (K-12) At least one (or more) of the following: Core Knowledge Experience, Experience with Blended Learning, At least two years of successful teaching in an urban environment
Responsibilities
The SPED Resource Teacher is responsible for maintaining detailed student service logs, creating and modifying lessons, and delivering both small group and individual student services as mandated by the IEP. This role also requires collaboration with general education teachers, facilitating academic and state testing, and managing all required documentation.
