Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to expand the team at the Enfield Communication Advisory Support Service, (ECASS). We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our team. This role is open to newly qualified speech and language therapists as well as experienced therapists. Pay will be awarded at the Local Authority equivalent of a Band 6 NHS salary and based on experience.
Full clinical supervision will be provided with opportunities for further professional development and experience to work alongside a multi-professional team both with the Local Authority and NHS Health Partners.

The post holder will be part of the extended ECASS multi-professional team working in Additional Resource Provisions, Units and in Mainstream Primary/Secondary schools. The aims of the Enfield Communication Advisory Support Service (ECASS) are to:

  • Improve provision for pupils with speech, language and communication needs, by providing ARP/Unit and whole school training in class wide and school wide good practice frameworks, enhancing pupils’ school experience and providing them with access to a range of speech, language and communication tools.
  • Deliver consistent key messages that support early speech, language and communication support through the work programme and resources, making it clear that ‘communication is everybody’s business’.
  • Promote an early intervention approach to speech, language and communication needs across Enfield schools. This will ensure that children and young people can access communication-friendly environments, and practitioners who are confident in their role of facilitating communication. and The role will support with identifying SLCN, and ensure that parents and carers are supported with appropriate information and resources.
  • Offer practical strategies and assessment to support children and young people placed in Local Authority ARPs and Units.
  • Support settings to meet the needs of children with speech, language and communication needs who are not achieving at the same rate as their peers. This will include, improving outcomes for children with emerging or less complex speech, language and communication needs who are likely to catch up with their peers through appropriate focused support, as well as supporting those with long term developmental concerns and children and young people at a statutory level.
  • Provide ARPs and Units with an appropriate model of supervision and continual professional development for the school workforce
