MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

We are looking for an enthusiastic person, with relevant care experience ideally in the field of Speech and Language Therapy / Therapies, who is passionate about supporting adults with swallowing and / or communication disorders in the community. This post requires you to work closely alongside qualified Speech and Language Therapists to deliver therapy to patients across a wide range of conditions including stroke, voice, Parkinson’s Disease and dementia. You will join a highly experienced and supportive team, well-regarded by service users and multi-disciplinary colleagues, and supported by a team of administrators. The team works flexibly to provide intervention across outpatient clinics, home, video, and telephone appointments. We are committed to personal, professional, and service development. We hold regular service improvement and governance meetings, with working parties involving all staff. We have regular supervision and appraisals, encourage self-directed learning and learning from others, including colleagues in other professions. Following completion of competencies in both communication and swallowing you will be required to work more autonomously and will be responsible for a small number of patients; always overseen by a qualified therapist.
