SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST – HDRT WEEKEND CASUAL

Join our St. Joseph’s team as we work to put patients and families at the centre of everything we do, in the role of Speech-Language Pathologist on our Health Disciplines Resource Team (HDRT).
The Speech-Language Pathology Team is a dynamic service across all hospital programs. We are seeking an experienced clinician to provide assessment and management for adults with swallowing and communication disorders. As a member of the HDRT Team, you will be supporting corporate coverage of inpatient units over weekends and/or holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be currently licensed by and in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) for practice in all applicable clinical areas.
• Must hold a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent).
• Current BLS (or willingness to complete within probationary period).
• Experience with assessment and management of communication and swallowing for medical-surgical patients of various disease presentation, and with tracheostomy tubes is preferred.
• Experience with videofluoroscopy, and holds current certification or is willing to obtain training in Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSImp) training.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
• Proven flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills as relates to patient care.
• Demonstrated advocacy, commitment to and involvement with profession preferred (e.g. involvement with professional association, representation on relevant committees).
