Description Solterra Academy provides comprehensive special education services for students ages 5 to 22 who require intensive support due to emotional, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and/or learning challenges. We are committed to creating a therapeutic, structured, and student-centered environment that supports the growth, independence, and success of every learner. We are seeking a full-time Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Clinical Team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with educators, clinicians, families, and support staff to assess, diagnose, and provide individualized speech and language services aligned with each student’s IEP. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and comfortable working in a therapeutic school setting with students who have complex needs. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (In-Person) Summer Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM (In-Person) Please note: This position requires a year-round commitment, including both the regular school year and our summer session. Responsibilities Screen, assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP goals Track and document student progress on IEP goals and communication Conduct triennial evaluations and prepare reports within required timelines Participate in PPT meetings and collaborate with primary teams Partner with families and caregivers to support carryover of skills Communicate effectively with staff using culturally responsive practices Utilize Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) strategies and de-escalation techniques Complete Medicaid documentation and service hour logs May supervise college students for clinical field experience or a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) as requested by administration. Requirements Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology Connecticut Department of Public Health SLP licensure (or pending) ASHA Certification (or Clinical Fellowship Year in progress) CT State Department of Education 061 Certification (or pending) CPR Certification (required within 90 days of hire; training provided by Solterra Academy) Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by Solterra Academy) Experience working with students with emotional or behavioral disabilities preferred Background Check Requirements All candidates for employment will be subject to pre-employment background screening for this position, which include drug testing based on the position description and job requirements.
