Children's Academy is a private K–12 school designed for children with speech and language differences. In alignment with CA's unique collaborative model, SLPs take on a critical classroom-based role to support students' speech and language skills throughout their school day. The SLP will join a strong department of experienced SLPs with access to the most up-to-date research and continuing education. Responsibilities: Observe and assess all students' speech and language needs on an ongoing basis Treat students individually for speech and language needs, including receptive language, expressive language, speech/articulation, AAC, oral motor issues, pragmatic language, schematic play, voice/fluency, feeding, and more Write comprehensive reports, including initial evaluations, mid-year progress reports, and end-of-year evaluations Maintain daily session data Create relevant and functional speech goals for inclusion on each child's IEP Collaborate with grade-level and classroom staff as part of an interdisciplinary team Co-teach ELA/Literacy class with a special education teacher Lead social skills groups Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance Disability and life insurance 401(k) with matching FSA Paid time off License reimbursement Professional development assistance Employee assistance program Opportunities for advancement Requirements Minimum Requirements: Valid New York State Speech-Language Pathologist license School-based experience Clear criminal record Superior organizational skills Preferred Skills: Working knowledge of gestalt language processing Experience with a variety of AAC programs Foundational awareness of apraxia treatments (PROMPT training will be provided) Required Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
