Description
The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates and treats a variety of communication/swallowing disorders but is not limited to aphasia, voice, speech/language, closed head injury deficits (cognitive, linguistic, memory, attention), fluency (including stuttering), aural rehabilitation, non-verbal (augmentative communication), oral and pharyngeal stage of swallowing. This is a casual position which will require two weekend shifts each month. Responsibilities: Achieve and maintain productivity standards. Prepare necessary time records. Maintain compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies (OSHA, TJC, CMS). Pursue professional growth and present educational programs. Perform job responsibilities in line with the organization’s mission. Maintain accurate progress notes and professional records. Adhere to organizational policies, including HIPAA and Corporate Compliance. Provide appropriate speech pathology treatments and diagnostic services. Compile and report accurate data for program needs. Coordinate evaluation, scheduling, and treatment programs for clients. Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology with specific course work and clinical practice in all previously mentioned areas within the scope of practice is required. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Speech Pathologist Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
