CONTEXT STATEMENT

NT Health provides integrated allied health services in a variety of service settings including acute and sub-acute care, primary health care,
aged care and mental health. Currently seeking applicants for position of new graduate or early career Speech Pathologist with acute or
sub-acute hospital experience to manage swallowing and communication difficulties in a generalist caseload. There is possibility of rotation
between acute and sub-acute sites. Clinical supervision is provided. This position may require the applicant to work within an extended
hours service model, which may include weekends (as applicable).

FURTHER INFORMATION

The preferred or recommended applicant will be required to hold a current working with children clearance notice and undergo a criminal
history check. A criminal history will not exclude an applicant from this position unless it is relevant to the position. This role carries specific
immunisation requirements. For immunisation requirements - Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances) or Category B
(indirect contact with blood or body substances) - check with contact person.

aged care and mental health. Currently seeking applicants for position of Speech Pathologist with acute or sub-acute hospital experience
particularly in the assessment and management of complex dysphagia (including instrumental swallow assessment) and acquired and
cognitive communication disorders in adult and/or paediatric caseloads. There is possibility of rotation between acute and sub-acute sites.
Clinical supervision is provided. This position will require the applicant to work within an extended hours service model, which may include
weekends (as applicable).

Responsibilities

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide timely, clinically and culturally appropriate Speech Pathology services under supervision within a multidisciplinary framework.
  2. Participate in professional development and research activities under guidance.
  3. Provide clinical supervision and/or support to students and relevant staff as appropriate.
  4. Manage a caseload within a dynamic and evolving work environment to ensure timelines and health outcomes are met.
  5. Participate in continuous quality improvement and service development activities at a local level to ensure delivery of contemporary
    Speech Pathology services.
  6. Ensure clinical and corporate records are maintained, including accurate documentation and statistics.
  7. Contribute to the achievement of work unit goals and key performance indicators.
  8. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in
    order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
  9. Foster a positive workplace culture through professional work practices and role modelling behaviour in accordance with NT Health
    values.

  5. Co-ordinate and/or contribute to continuous quality improvement and service development activities at a local or regional level to
    ensure delivery of contemporary Speech Pathology services.
  6. Contribute to the achievement of work unit goals and key performance indicators.
  7. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in
    order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
  8. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
