Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Speech Pathologist at Better Self Allied Health, you will provide exceptional care through evidence-based assessment and treatment for clients with complex communication and swallowing needs. Whether you are newly qualified or bring years of experience, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills and make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we support.
You’ll be committed to continuous learning, actively seeking opportunities to grow your knowledge and expertise. You’ll also contribute to the development of our team by sharing ideas, resources, and feedback in a supportive, collaborative environment.
You will manage a generalist caseload – primarily paediatric, with some adult clients experiencing a range of communication difficulties. As part of our expanding service, you’ll also contribute to new swallowing and paediatric feeding supports. A key feature of this role is the opportunity to work with our highly regarded specialist Stuttering and Cluttering Clinic – a standout service for both children and adults, known for its client-centred and innovative approaches.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Client Management: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, communication, and swallowing needs. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual goals. Provide therapy to support sound production, voice, fluency, vocabulary, and sentence structure.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing learning opportunities, clinical supervision, team days, and support programs to build and maintain your skills.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with Senior Speech Pathologists and the Clinical Lead. Contribute to team development through regular communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Client-Centred Care: Build positive relationships with clients, families, and support networks. Work from a neuro-affirming perspective and lead or contribute to group programs where appropriate.
  • Administrative Responsibilities: Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation. Complete necessary NDIS modules and manage administrative tasks using our business systems.
