Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Full-Time | Self-Contained Special Education Program Illinois | School-Based | 2025–2026 School Year We're is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join a self-contained special education program serving students with low-incidence and profound disabilities. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting communication and language development for students with complex needs in a structured and nurturing environment. About the Role As a Speech-Language Pathologist in this specialized program, you will provide direct and consultative speech and language services to a caseload of approximately 25–30 students. These students may have significant communication challenges, including limited verbal ability, alternative communication needs, and multiple disabilities. You will play a vital role in helping each student access their education, develop functional communication skills, and enhance overall participation in daily classroom activities. What you'll Do: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, and communication abilities. Train and support staff in the use of AAC devices, visual supports, and communication tools. Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, progress monitoring, and compliance requirements. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with each student’s needs and goals. Participate in IEP meetings, student reviews, and professional development opportunities to continuously improve service delivery. Provide individual and small-group therapy focused on expressive and receptive language, articulation, social communication, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other related service providers to ensure consistent implementation of communication strategies across settings. Requirements Active Illinois Speech Language Pathology license. Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills. Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Experience working with students with profound or multiple disabilities preferred.
