Job Summary: Will provide direct and indirect patient care as a speech language pathologist throughout the Erlanger Health System. Will ensure appropriate staffing patterns at all locations served by Children�s Therapy Services in order to met productivity standards. Act as liaison between Director, contract services, and physicians. Responsible for compliance, chart audits, and quality improvement projects. Education: Required: M.A./M.S. from an accredited School of Speech Language Pathology. Preferred: Experience: Required: 5 years experience with pediatric population and pediatric swallow studies Preferred: Management experience in acute care/outpatient setting. Management experience to include productivity standards, billing and reimbursement, JCAHO compliance and budget management. Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration Required: Tennessee Licensure Speech/Language Pathologist. BLS completed prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward. Certified Clinical Competency Preferred: Department Position Summary: Assure all employee records are maintained. Meet with Director at regular intervals. Actively seek to expand the role of the department within the community. Work as a liaison between the medical and clinical staff with issues concerning patient care and program development. Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and contract service providers. Manage clinical responsibilities for assessment and treatment of infants and children between birth and 21 years of age. Must be able maximize utilization of all resources to best serve patients, families and the medical community. The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients with speech/language impairment as result of injury, disease, or other causes. The employee must be able to participate in team meetings and discharge planning. They must comply with the standards as set down by the American Speech and Hearing Association regarding the treatment procedures and professional ethics. The employee must comply with standards described in the departmental policies and procedures.
