Note: Eligibility for benefits may vary by location and is determined by employment status Job Summary Under the supervision of a speech/language pathologist and/or audiologist (as appropriate) who hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), performs the following: Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)-Speech/Language Pathology: Diagnoses disorders and provides therapy for patients who demonstrate communication impairments. Clinical Fellow-Audiology: Identifies hearing impaired patients; counsels patient/family; assists in educational management; makes referrals; selects hearing aids and ensures their proper use. 1. CFY Speech/Language Pathology: Masters degree, or equivalent, in Speech-Language Pathology. 2. Clinical Fellow Audiology: Masters degree, or equivalent (including coursework completion for the AUD), in Audiology. Facility Description DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan is one of the nation’s largest hospitals specializing in rehabilitation medicine and research. RIM is known for its clinical expertise in spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, amputee, orthopedics and catastrophic injury care. The Institute houses the Center for Spinal Cord Injury Recovery and the Southeastern Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury System (SEMTBIS), one of only 16 federally designated model systems of care for brain injury care and research. Responsibilities
