The Kids’ Uni Early Intervention service is part of Kids’ Uni at UOW Pulse. Kids’ Uni Early Intervention was founded in 2020 to support families with young neurodiverse children in the Illawarra and facilitate strong inclusion practices at Early Education settings. We provide an individualised therapy services to children and their families within the early and formative years and promote a holistic approach that focuses on the participation and inclusion of each child within their family and community. The role The team are seeking an enthusiastic clinician who will provide Speech Pathology services in this engaging environment with a team of Educators and Allied Health professionals working innovatively and together with children and families. This is an exciting opportunity to work among a team of clinicians who are passionate about early childhood and the positive influence therapy can have in these pivotal early years. This is a permanent position based at the University of Wollongong. Both full and part time working arrangements will be considered. What you’ll be doing Providing 1:1 therapy for children with developmental disabilities in clinic, home visits and preschools, under Medicare and NDIS plans. Supporting families to understand their child’s diagnosis and empowering them to aid in their child’s development. Providing speech therapy services to children with speech and language needs at Kids’ Uni Early Education Services. Consultation to the team, in your area of expertise, to provide a comprehensive and effective services for all children. What you’ll need to apply Relevant tertiary qualifications in speech pathology and clinical experience working with young children. Registration with SPA. Demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills in working with children with neuro-developmental disabilities. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the assessment, formulation and treatment of communication and speech and language delays. Demonstrated capacity for multi-disciplinary teamwork and capacity to contribute to team learning and development. Responsibilities
The Speech Therapist will provide 1:1 therapy for children with developmental disabilities and support families in understanding their child's diagnosis. They will also provide consultation to the team to ensure comprehensive services for all children.
