The Team You’ll Work With: The Office of Speechwriting crafts the Mayor’s voice across speeches, op-eds, and written communications. Collaborating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, the office ensures the Mayor’s words inspire, inform, and engage diverse audiences. The Problems You’ll Solve: The responsibilities of the Speechwriter role include but are not limited to: Drafting remarks, op-eds, press statements, social media copy and other materials Supporting the management of the speechwriting assignment calendar in conjunction with Speechwriting team leadership Supporting the digital, video, and press teams with miscellaneous written content Performing research, fact checking and editing remarks, and offering support to other team members Conceiving, pitching, and executing new ideas for speechwriting concepts and series Salary The City of New York Office of the Mayor’s compensation package includes a market-competitive salary, equity for all full-time roles, and exceptional benefits.
