Description Under supervision of a supervisory official in the Department of Environmental  Protection, performs tasks as  assigned at state parks,  forests, recreation areas, historic sites, and/or marinas which may include assistance and information to visitors to State Park  Service recreational facilities; assists State Park Service staff as required; patrols State Park Service grounds, buildings, facilities, and property to ensure they are in order; does  other related duties as required. Specific to Position Office Management: Answers telephones; takes messages; forwards to proper forester/agency; maintains supply inventory; orders supplies; PO’s and PV’s on supplies office equipment and services; schedule repairs of office equipment; maintains a presentable office; maintains all files and filing; answers emails. Farmland Assessment Program: Creates and maintains all files and records; reviews annual applications for changes and updates; processes all applications; completes appropriated correspondences and mailings; enters data, updates and maintains FLA database; groups and schedules on-site inspections for the foresters; reviews files and completes a summarized activity map/inspection record for the inspections; completes the appropriate inspection letters; assists with completion and maintenance an Arcview GIS coverage. Forest Stewardship Program: Creates and maintains all files and records; processes all applications; completes appropriate approval, inspection and other miscellaneous correspondences; enters data, updates and maintains Forest Stewardship database; assists with completion and maintenance of Arcview GIS Stewardship coverage and SMART federal coverage. •Intermittent employees must work 11 out of the 12 months in a Fiscal Year. •Intermittent employees are paid at an hourly rate, not salary. •Benefit Time earned is as follows: 174 Hours Worked = 1 Sick Day/1 Vacation Day/4 Hours of Administrative Leave. •Intermittent employees do not get Dental insurance. •Intermittent employees are not eligible for state pension membership, but are eligible for Deferred Compensation. •Health benefits coverage will be effective the first day of the first coverage period that includes January 1 of the given year, provided the Intermittent employee had a minimum of 750 regular pay status hours in the prior fiscal year (July-June). *Due to nature of the role, this position is performed exclusively on-site.
