We are delighted to open our new 102 bed Aged Care home, Holy Cross, implementing the Inspirit Model of Care. We are looking for a Spiritual and Pastoral Care Coordinator to join our team to deliver pastoral care services for our residents, ensuring they have choice in maintaining their cultural and spiritual wellbeing. This is a Monday – Friday role with flexible work hours to meet the needs of our residents.

A typical day will involve

  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with residents through one-to-one visits and group-based activities
  • Encouraging resident choice and participation in pastoral care services
  • Providing spiritual support and pastoral care services to residents and family members and employees that are person-centred, faith-based, inclusive, and friendly within a trauma-informed care framework with a strength-based approach
  • Preparing spiritual celebrations to recognise special days of remembrance that are inclusive of various religious and cultural backgrounds
  • Preparing prayers and moments of reflection to share with residents, family members and employees
  • Providing personal spiritual support and Pastoral Care services to residents in line with their preferences and Catholic Healthcare’s Mission
  • Supporting mission formation activities for employees within the residential aged care home
  • Maintaining pastoral care assessments and progress notes within eCase / CRM

To be successful in this role you’ll need

  • A heart and passion for providing high quality care to the elderly
  • Successful completion of Cert III or Cert IV in Pastoral Care, Counselling, or similar qualifications in theology or spirituality
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with residents and their families
  • Commitment to respecting the values, customs, preferences and spiritual beliefs of residents
  • Strong personal spirituality lived out in the context of a Christian-based community
  • Strong knowledge and understanding and/or practice of the Catholic faith, particularly as it relates to Christian Spirituality, dignity of life, and aged care
  • Commitment to respecting the values, customs, preferences, and spiritual beliefs of residents
