Job Title: Spiritual Life Coordinator
Based at: Brightwood Ranch
Reports to: Camp Director
Hours of work: 4-month paid position - May-August
Salary: $1800/month + room & board *
Start Date: May 5th, 2025
Status: Contract Position ending August 22nd, 2025
Our Mission: Because of the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ, Hope Mission exists to serve the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those in search of help, healing, and hope.
Our Facility: We are located on 220 acres of rolling hills one hour west of Edmonton. We offer 6-day overnight camps for children and youth ages 6-17. Activities include archery, riflery, zipline, climbing wall, petting zoo, horsemanship, bike trails/pump track, laser tag, and wide games. All cabins have shower and bathroom facilities.
Job Summary: This leadership position is responsible for the spiritual welfare, growth, and implementation of our mission statement for our staff and campers for the summer. You will be involved in chapels with campers and in one-on-one meetings with campers and staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Servant leadership attitude.
  • Confidence in faith.
  • Creative problem-solving.
  • Works well with others in a team environment.
  • Fun, engaging, quick thinking/response time.
  • Passion for seeing youth and children experience positive life change through ministry.
  • At least 2 years of experience in this area of work.
  • Able to live on site in community for four months (May through August).
  • Drivers’ license is an asset.
  • Punctuality.
  • Good physical health - for wide games, skill-building activities, and walking distances.
  • Previous camp experience is an asset.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Being a Christian organization, we require our employees to be in agreement and sign the Hope Mission statement of Faith (https://hopemission.com/our-values/).
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on a full-time basis.
  • Able to provide Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • A letter of reference from a ministry or church is an asset.
  • Adherence to Hope Mission’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Staff care - debriefing major incidents.
  • Organic “check-ins” with all staff.
  • Plan fun and meaningful prayers for the food.
  • Pray for campers/staff during and after times of injuries/accidents.
  • Office hours - pastoral care and counselling.
  • Organize and implement chapel services content.
  • Coordinate speakers and worship teams.
  • Plan cabin devotions.
  • Plan discipleship group.
  • Prayer walks around property - 1 hour a day.
  • May and June - plan and organize worship evening (once a week).
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and implement morning devotions and staff meetings.
