Are you looking to learn new skills as part of a busy and driven team? We are looking for a Sport Development Placement (Wellbeing) to join our friendly team, based predominantly at our Manchester city centre office which is in the Business School.
ABOUT US:
The sports department of Manchester Met University (MMU Sport) works with some of the most recognisable sporting talent in the UK and we have big ambitions for our future. We’re aiming to become a top 20 UK sporting university with a reputation for effectively supporting students to fulfil their sporting potential and are excited to be working with athletes who will help us achieve that.
We are gaining recognition as a performance sport institute, working with elite sporting partners in our city. Our performance programme supports and nurtures emerging talent. We support over 70 teams across more than 50 sports at our world-class facilities. The performance programme looks to develop top-class student-centred clubs and individuals.
MMU Sport also endeavours to provide students a variety of opportunities to get involved in sport, for example: access to our free sport and fitness programme and our MCR Met Moves platform. Both placement roles will work to increase student participation and support with the development and growth of the programmes.

Responsibilities:
To be successful in this role, you will have exceptional organisational skills, able to manage a vastly varied workload and a range of stakeholders, both internal and external. You’ll be a great communicator, a team player and keen to learn new skills in this challenging but rewarding opportunity.
Supporting the Sport Development team in the delivery and administration of MCR Met Moves, Women’s Only Programmes & Zone Out. We are looking for a candidate who is looking to gain more experience of working within the Nutrition and Fitness industry and bring new ideas on how to engage students and staff at the University who aren’t physically active. The ideal candidate will be confident, approachable, computer literate, creative and have a can-do attitude.
The role commences 1st September 2025 and is a 10-month fixed term contract for those studying on a sandwich degree.
