You will have responsibility for leading & co-ordinating the Men’s Rugby Academy, working closely with Academy Coaches to further develop the men’s rugby teams.
Salary Details: Scale: ALS1-4 (£25,371 - £29,942 pro rata) - without teaching qualification
MG1-UP1 (£32,304 - £46,431 pro rata) - with teaching qualification
Opportunity to progress onto a further scale
UP2-UP3 (£48,153 - £49,934 pro rata)
Hours of Work: Part-time - 30 hours per week (equivalent to 668 annual teaching hours)
167 remitted hours for Men’s Rugby Co-ordination duties
Contract Type: Salaried - Permanent
Holiday Entitlement: 37 days Annual Leave plus Statutory Bank Holidays & College Closure days per annum

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Hold a relevant Degree /HND in Sport/Physical Education or a related qualification at a minimum Level 5 together with good knowledge within these subject areas
  • Hold a minimum Level 2 or 3 Rugby Coaching qualification and experience of coaching
  • If you do not hold a recognised teaching qualification (such as PGCE), you will be required to undertake and achieve a PGCE within a specified timescale. The PGCE will be fully funded by Pembrokeshire College and you will be given the appropriate time to attend the in-house course.
  • Ideally hold a valid First Aid Certificate. However, if not currently held, you will be required to undertake and achieve this during your employment.
    We are looking for someone to join our highly committed team of lecturers, supporting the delivery of specialist units for our Level 1 and OCR Level 2 and 3 courses. Please refer to the attachment for some examples of the subjects that may be taught.
    Your responsibilities will include co-ordination/delivery of all aspects of the Rugby Sports Academy within the coaching team. This includes training sessions, home and away competitions and tournaments that require overnight supervision with learners.
    You will ideally have knowledge and experience of working in a rugby sporting environment and be able to plan and deliver theoretical and practical teaching sessions.
    The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and experience of working with young people and ideally coaching players at U19 in sports.
