OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

Simply Education is seeking dynamic and passionate Sports Coaches to join our team, working within SEND and SEMH settings across Chester. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who have a love for sports and a strong desire to support students who require a tailored approach to their education.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in re-engaging students who have not had a conventional school experience. Your ability to build strong relationships, think on your feet, and adapt your teaching approach to meet the diverse needs of the students will be essential. Alongside your coaching responsibilities, you will also take on general Teaching Assistant duties, supporting students either one-on-one or in small groups.
Due to the importance of consistency for our students, you must be available for full-time work, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Many of our students have additional learning needs, including Autism and ADHD, which can sometimes lead to behavioural challenges when they feel overwhelmed. As such, we are looking for individuals who are patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a nurturing approach to student support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver high-quality, bespoke learning experiences that incorporate students’ interests and vocational studies, alongside functional skills in English and Maths.
  • Support students in re-engaging with their education and developing confidence in their abilities.
  • Model and promote positive behaviour, setting high expectations for student conduct.
  • Build strong relationships with students, using effective communication and shared interests to inspire and motivate them.
