ABOUT THE JOB We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Sports Field Coordinator to support the delivery, maintenance and continual improvement of Melbourne Park’s sports fields across the precinct. This role is central to ensuring that Melbourne Park has the world-class sports fields and facilities it needs to deliver outstanding outcomes that have a lasting impact. This role is responsible for assisting the Sports Field team, managing turf and horticultural operations, and delivering safe, high-quality playing surfaces in accordance with statutory requirements and training schedules. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain strong relationships with tenant clubs and training field users. Assisting in the upkeep of back-of-house (BOH) areas and ensuring the overall presentation of facilities meets required standards. Coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders Ensure all of Melbourne Park’s fields meet the standards required for elite NRL, AFL and FFA. Ensure training fields comply with all statutory rules, regulations and scheduled requirements. Maintain Melbourne Park turf facilities and equipment safely and in excellent condition. Ensure all turf and horticulture practices comply with OH&S requirements. Stay up to date with Sports Field turf management industry developments. Safely manage and deliver turf & horticulture supplies. Ensure irrigation schedules run within non-event hours. Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organisation of horticulture storage areas. Protect the environment and minimise adverse impacts. Apply skills and support work areas beyond sports fields when required. Prerequisites Diploma in Horticulture (Sports turf management) At least 5 years’ experience in the Sports Turf industry Advantageous but not essential: Certifications related to OH&S, turf management or environmental management. Demonstrated experience adopting or trialling new turf technologies or management practices.
