SPORTS INFORMATION DIRECTOR

Ohio Wesleyan University, a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts, residential institution
founded in 1842 and located just 20 miles north of Columbus, is seeking candidates for the position
of Sports Information Director. This is a salaried, Full-Time position with benefits.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sports Information Director (SID) leads the strategic communication efforts for the college’s
athletic division. This role is responsible for promoting and enhancing the visibility of all varsity athletic
programs through creative storytelling, media relations, digital content, and game-day operations. The
Sports Information Director collaborates across departments to ensure a consistent and integrated
message that supports the University’s mission and athletic objectives. This position reports to the
Vice President of Marketing & Communications.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic communications plan for the athletics

department that aligns with the University’s communication philosophy.

• Ensure alignment of athletics messaging consistent with the University’s brand identity and

messaging strategy.

• Serve as the primary media contact for all varsity sports and coordinate interview requests

with coaches and student-athletes.

• Maintain and update the University athletics website.
• Produce high-quality live video and audio streams for home athletic events.
