Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, WI is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Orthopedic Sports Medicine Surgeon to join a collegial department of twenty physicians (orthopedists and podiatrists). The Sports Medicine Division includes one fellowship- trained, CAQ, Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgeon, two fellowship-trained Non-operative Sports Medicine physicians, and established sports PT and sports performance services with full complement of athletic training staff. The primary clinic space will be located at our Sports Medicine Facility—Diagnostic Imaging Sports Medicine Center (DISC), which opened in the summer of 2025. This center is integrated within The Sonnentag Event Center, a community hub shared with the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. At DISC, athletes benefit from state-of-the-art imaging, comprehensive medical assessment, and treatment provided by our specialized sports medicine physicians and licensed athletic trainers. The facility also includes a dedicated sports-based physical therapy team focused on recovery, performance enhancement, and injury prevention. This collaboration between Mayo Clinic Health System and the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire creates a unique environment for athlete-centered care and innovation—shaping the future of sports medicine. Features of the Position: 1:1 model for surgical physicians with advanced practice providers & currently fourteen advanced practice providers to expand access to the department for direct surgical cases to the surgeons. Licensed Athletic Trainers utilized as physician extenders in clinics and support ten high schools. Team Physician for the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire Athletics and University of Wisconsin -Stout Programs. Established Rehabilitation Services department of Sports focused Physical Therapy on site. PT, On Site Imaging support of MR and x-ray. Orthopedic Department has been recognized repeatedly by U.S. News & World Report as a top performer in Wisconsin. Level II Trauma Center. Day call (7am-3pm) being taken by the Orthopedic Trauma Service.
