The Town of Aurora is currently looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our Recreation team in the Fall of 2026!  Position Summary  Reporting to the Youth and Community Development Coordinator and/or Youth Programmer, the Sports Recreation Instructor will be responsible for delivering sport and recreation programs to participants of all ages and abilities. This role involves overseeing the instruction, safety, and supervision of participants in the Town’s sport drop-in and registered programs. The instructor will deliver age-appropriate programming, incorporating sport-specific skill development and progressions, with a focus on physical literacy and fundamental movement skills. Qualifications  * Be an advocate for play and physical activity and able to provide intentional sport instruction that develops motor, social and cognitive skills in participants. Multi-sport background and previous coaching experience is an asset.  * Experience working with youth and adults in a recreation setting is an asset. * Good customer service, behaviour management and general de-escalation skills. * Foster an inclusive, positive and safe environment for all participants and be able to deal courteously and effectively with program participants, facility users, the general public and staff.  * Must possess a valid Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificate issued by a training agency recognized by the WSIB.  * HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) certification is an asset. * Be available to work flexible hours including daytime, evenings, weekends and holidays.  * Sport specific certifications or qualifications are an asset.
