Job Summary Summary Develops and implements programs that enhance the physical performance, fitness, and injury resilience of athletes. This position involves working closely with athletes, coaches, and medical staff to deliver evidence-based training methods tailored to individual and team needs. Essential Functions -Design and implement customized training programs aimed at improving strength, speed, agility, endurance, and overall athletic performance. -Develop and Manage Performance-Related Services: Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of performance training programs, ensuring they align with Programmatic goals, client needs, and industry best practices. -Mentor Performance Staff: Manage, mentor, and provide ongoing professional development for performance coaches and reconditioning specialists to establish a common vision, philosophy, program-design and coaching approach across all staff members -Establish Intake Process: Collaborate with research staff to identify the most effective assessments and tests to provide valuable short-term input into client program design, long-term feedback on program effectiveness, and support organizational research initiatives. -Design Customized Training Programs: Lead the creation of specific performance training programs based on age, gender, sport, assessment/testing findings, injury considerations and individual or team goals. -Monitor Progress & Adjust Strategies: Regularly assess client progress and program effectiveness, making necessary adjustments based on data, feedback from clients and professionals, and evolving best practices in sports performance training. -Liaison to our local Professional and Collegiate team Performance staffs: Outline and support the collaborative testing, education and training platforms -Utilize sport-specific performance metrics to assess and monitor athlete progress. -Collaborate with medical staff to integrate injury prevention strategies into training programs. -Assist in post-injury rehabilitation programs, ensuring athletes return safely to peak performance. -Perform regular fitness evaluations, including strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular assessments. -Analyze data from performance assessments and adjust training regimens accordingly. -Maintain accurate records of athlete performance and progress, techniques, and preparation strategies. -Provide clear, concise feedback to athletes and coaches regarding performance and development. -Stay updated on advancements in sports science and incorporate best practices into training programs. -Ensure the training facility is safe and clean. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required Licenses and Credentials Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist [CSCS] - National Strength and Conditioning Association required Experience Experience working in athletic performance, sports training, or comparable positions 3-5 years required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to lead, mentor, and provide guidance to peers. Strong knowledge of exercise physiology, biomechanics, and sport-specific training techniques. Expertise in strength training, conditioning, speed and agility development, and injury prevention strategies. Ability to assess and analyze movement patterns and correct inefficiencies. Proficiency in using performance monitoring tools and technologies (e.g., force plates, GPS tracking, and heart rate monitors). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with athletes, coaches, and interdisciplinary staff. Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Passion for advancing athletic performance and fostering a culture of excellence.
