Our Sportsbook Data Team is looking for a Data Engineer to make a difference in the further development of our Data Warehouse solutions, designing and developing our Sportsbook data platform to cover both internal and external business needs. We have a world-class Sportsbook, developed in-house by our dedicated Sportsbook tech team and growing at a very rapid rate, expanding not only in new markets but also as a B2B product. Having our product available in different parts of the world and offering sports all around the world requires to have support around the clock. Our Product Development organisation is truly Global with cross functional teams spanning 5 Tech Hubs. These can be found in Malta, Budapest, Stockholm, Tallinn and Athens. The Wow Our Sportsbook Platform is ours – from our Architecture to our Trading teams – we have an in-house platform which hosts our brands offering Sportsbetting for our customers. From the tools our traders use to the cutting edge features our customers use to bet on various sports – our teams are the backbone to making this happen! As part of our Sportsbook tech team – a high performance, throughout and availability product serving many brands (20+), you will be key in ensuring that the team delivers the required business value. A taster of what you will be involved with: Maintaining and evolving our Data Structures Build new ETL flows and maintain/improve existing ones Be part of designing new data structures and data modelling concepts Ensure data quality by verifying data consistency and accuracy – being able to create data validation methods Write, optimize, and maintain stored procedures Investigate, assess, and develop message-based architectures for data streams Comfortable working under Agile Framework (Scrum 2-week iterations) Have an investigative mindset to be able to troubleshoot – being creative when it comes to troubleshooting problems and incident management Document necessary processes and procedures (creating KBs, runbooks, topology etc) Taking full ownership of projects and tasks with being able to work within the team Work closely with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely insights to our business partners What we are looking for Advanced T-SQL Coding and Python for data engineering is a must Relational and non-relational DBs (proven experience in MSSQL 2014 – 2019) Familiar with cloud-based ETL tools (AWS Glue or Azure data factory) Familiar with DWH and ETL concepts Familiar with Data Modelling concepts Familiar with Reporting and Analytical Tools (Snowflake, PowerBI) , previous BI experience is considered a plus Familiar with Amazon Web Services or similar cloud environments, cloud data engineering certifications will be a plus Familiar with software versioning tools like Git Be experienced and knowledgeable in core database development tuning techniques Automation scripting and experience with SQLServer and PostgreSQL will be a plus Additional programming skills will be a plus (.NET, Python, R, Scala) Knowledge around Big Data concepts and data streaming architectures will be a plus Experience in sportsbook/betting or fintech sectors is considered a plus Continuous learning mindset Can effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects Excellent verbal and written English communication skills What we offer Much like riding a rollercoaster, sometimes life at Betsson can be lightning fast with twists and turns but always FUN!
