Description

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world - together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?

IN THIS POSITION…

In 1901, Henry Ford designed and built the racecar called “Sweepstakes.” On October 10th of that year, he drove Sweepstakes against Alexander Winton, a famous racer and builder. Against all odds Ford won. That was the beginning – “the race that changed the world” – and it continues to this day. From our victories at Le Mans in 1966 and exactly fifty years later in 2016, to multiple World Championships, the spirit of Henry Ford lives with us every day through our motorsports efforts around the world.
Ford Performance is looking for an experienced, talented, and highly motivated Sportscar Program Engineer to join our Motorsports Engineering department. This engineer would work across all Ford Performance Motorsports sportscar programs, focusing on development and homologation for LMDh, GT3, and GT4.

Responsibilities
  • Program Development & Homologation:
  • Outline strategy and engineering targets, timelines, and deliverables for future Ford Performance sportscar programs.
  • Lead Homologation process for new programs, ensuring accurate documentation, and alignment with category and series rules and requirements
  • Work with existing partners, race teams, and customers to collect feedback on current programs, translating real-world insights into actionable engineering feedback for future vehicle design, development, and homologation.
  • Develop and implement tools and processes to streamline and enhance the efficiency of vehicle development, testing, and homologation workflows for engineering teams and external partners.
  • Engineering Development & Analysis:
  • Support engineering development and testing activities as required.
  • Conduct comprehensive data analysis, including End-of-Lap (EoL), Diagnostics, Timing & Scoring, and Balance of Performance (BoP) analysis.
  • Strategic Representation & Relationship Building:
  • Represent Ford Performance Motorsports at sports car events throughout the US, Europe, and Australia.
  • Develop and manage strong relationships with racing teams, series organizers, and key stakeholders to expand Ford Performance motorsports presence.
  • Provide program management support, ensuring strategic alignment of activities with future product launches and homologation timelines.
  • Regulatory & Homologation Strategy:
  • Represent Ford Performance with proactive engagement in GT3 Technical Working Groups (TWGs) and Series Homologation meetings to help shape future regulations to align with Ford’s strategic motorsport goals.
  • Interpret, disseminate, and advise on evolving homologation requirements and technical regulations, ensuring future vehicle designs are compliant and competitive.
