Overview: Monday-Friday 3rd shift 11:00pm-7:00am Overtime/Weekends/Holidays will be required during peak/seasonal volumes 40-50 hours a week- Flexibility with schedule required Operate out of Woodridge, IL Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment safely; must adhere to all safe driving practices and DOT guidelines. The ability to drive and maintain a spotter -moving empty and loaded trailers from dock to yard or yard to docks as assigned Use landing gear to drop trailers; open and close swinging trailer doors and rise and lower roll-up doors Ensures the trailer is completely loaded and secured before moving from the dock area; ensures trailer doors are closed while not in the dock Perform Daily Pre-and Post-Trip Inspection – Report any vehicle mechanical problems immediately Perform Daily Yard Checks - Inspect and Red Tag “out-of-service” trailers and defective equipment. Arranges trailers in the yard in an orderly and efficient manner Must be willing and able work outdoors in all weather conditions including snow, rain, heat and cold Must be willing and able to operate moving equipment and work around moving equipment Must be able to pay close attention to detail while constantly aware of the work surroundings when operating a vehicle Must have the ability to reason logically, use common sense, and resolve issues independently. The physical demands of this position require waling, standing, sitting, hearing, seeing, moving, driving, reaching, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Responsible for any other additional duties as assigned by management. Responsibilities
