Description JOB SUMMARY The Liberty County Board of Commissioners is currently seeking reliable and safety-conscious individuals to join our team as a Spray Truck Operator within the Mosquito Control Department. This position plays an important role in protecting public health and enhancing outdoor comfort for our community. This is a seasonal part-time position working April to November. The typical work schedule 6:30 - 11:00 PM, several evenings during the week. MAJOR DUTIES Drives a spray truck on an assigned route and operates spray system to apply pesticides. Conducts inspections of assigned equipment/vehicle and performs basic maintenance as needed. Communicates professionally with residents when necessary. Follows all safety guidelines, environmental regulations, and department procedures. Refills spray tank with chemicals as needed. Refills truck with fuel as needed. Maintains routine work records. Performs related duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, or bending. The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally lifts heavy objects and utilizes sense of smell. The work is typically performed outdoors at night. The employee is exposed to machinery with moving parts and irritating chemicals. Work requires use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, and gloves. Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent required. Less than one (1) year of related experience required. Possession of a valid Georgia Class C driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Liberty County is an equal opportunity employer and a drug-free workplace.
