Description Employment Type: Internship The Estimating Co-op/Intern will be exposed to the earliest phases of the construction process. Working with our dedicated estimating and preconstruction department, you will see how the bidding process evolves; learn how to read plans and drawings; and communicate with our subcontractor partners. The goal is to develop a fundamental understanding of general commercial, industrial, and institutional estimating practices. This knowledge will be the foundation for future career opportunities and an asset in any construction role. The Estimating Co-op/Intern reports directly to the Senior Vice President/Estimating & Preconstruction, James Thomson. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Bidding/estimating support Understand plan and specification requirements Identify subcontractor/material supplier scopes of work Distribute construction documents Communicate with subcontractors Assist in take-off process Assist in database maintenance Handle requests for information Track estimating deadlines Build relationship with key stakeholders including owners, architects/engineers, subcontractors and consultants Requirements Qualifications Construction Management major, or related field; Accurate and efficient with a strong work ethic and interpersonal communication skills CM&B encourages all Co-op/ Interns to immerse in the company culture by networking internally and participating in company events.
