JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Tooling Services team. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience working in conjunction with tooling design, tool build, and procurement within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The intern will collaborate closely with the Sourcing team to identify and address inefficiencies in tooling-related processes. Additionally, the intern will focus on assisting in the procurement of tooling components, supporting a wide range of tool types and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the tooling supply chain. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Operate within the Tool Sourcing team to support the development and execution of strategic sourcing plans. This includes analytical evaluation and strategic definition of tooling supply initiatives within the supplier base. - Design, develop, and maintain custom software tools and scripts to automate repetitive tasks, improve data accuracy, and optimize workflow efficiency. - Create on-purpose digital solutions that align with organizational goals and sourcing strategies. - Collaborate with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and deliver tailored coding solutions that integrate with existing systems. - Monitor baseline supplier performance against defined metrics and support initiatives to drive continuous improvement and alignment with organizational goals. - Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Experimental Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Finance, Tool Design, Tool Engineering, Tool Manufacturing, and Product Support Specialists to address strategic supply challenges and implement effective solutions. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: - Mechanical Engineering - Manufacturing Technology - Information Technology - Computer Science - Cybersecurity - Minor in Business Administration is a plus QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong work ethic Good analytics and problem-solving skills Mechanical aptitude Excellent organizational skills Computer proficiency. Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, VBA, SQL, or similar).
