Description

ABOUT US

This appointment is part of the SPROCKET Hub (Systems And Process Redesign And Optimisation At Childhood Key Events And TransitionSPROCKET is a multidisciplinary Hub which brings together experts in operational research, systems thinking, health services research, clinical paediatric practice, innovation implementation and evaluation; design of interventions for people with disabilities; community facilitators, parents of children with complex health needs; special educational needs experts and experts in co-production and health inequalities.
Our aim is to transform the delivery of services for children and young people with complex health needs. Children and young people (CYP) with complex health needs, and those that care for them, face significant difficulties navigating services across health, education, and social care, leading to feelings of being overwhelmed, isolated, and burdened. Key transitions, such as moving between services or starting a new school, are particularly challenging due to barriers like poor communication, stigma, and lack of funding and resources. As a result, there are widening inequalities in access to and experience of care, and increased risk of adverse health outcomes. Whilst initiatives are ongoing to improve transitions from children to adult health services, there are many other significant transitions that are often overlooked.
The SPROCKET Innovation Hub aims to address these gaps through working to improve two transitions: hospital-to-home and education transitions, with a focus on equity. This appointment is for a Senior Hub Manager for SPROCKET who will work closely with the co-leads to ensure successful delivery of the hub. This role presents an exciting opportunity for career development in large research project management and will also have a real impact on services for children with complex health needs.

Responsibilities

You will play a critical role in the SPROCKET hub and work closely with the senior hub manager and the co-Leads to support the running of the hub. The specific tasks include co-ordinating programme and work package meetings, preparing pre-reading and agenda materials, taking minutes and summary action notes at study meetings, collating budgets, sending out newsletters, supporting the website and social media accounts, supporting ethics and governance applications, helping to set up and update the project website and participating in project activities. Your role will be crucial in supporting the success of hub and improving services for children with complex health needs.
