Overview:
Are you a skilled SQL Database Administrator (DBA) eager to take on new challenges? Adastra is looking for a dedicated professional to join our team and to play a pivotal role in designing, configuring, and managing database solutions. In this role, you will ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility, driving operational excellence and supporting our organization’s success.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent knowledge of MS SQL, MySQL, and SQL data backup, recovery, and security
  • Proven experience working as a Database Administrator
  • Deep understanding of the SQL Server architecture
  • Strong experience with Fivetran HVR (High Volume Replication)
  • Experience with SSIS, SSAS, SSRS
  • Knowledge of VSTS (Azure DevOps)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Good scripting experience
  • Troubleshooting experience, including knowledge of backups, restores, and recovery models
  • Experience in database performance monitoring and performance bottleneck remediation
Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain database systems of high availability and quality, depending on users’ requirements
  • Define standards for physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration
  • Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and back up databases
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues
  • Analyze database access patterns, data model problems, and other bottlenecks
  • Configure database parameters and define data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and warehousing needs
  • Develop data models for all production schemas
  • Protect the safety and integrity of the database platform through database design changes, backups, and securing of database instances
  • Responsible for database operations such as data retention, health reports, and backup management
  • Proactively develop scripts and tools
  • Design, architect, implement, and support the data platform, including testing, improving, and maintaining new and existing databases
