Overview SQL Engineer (Microsoft SQL Server) Remote l Project-Based (5 Months) l Midshift/Nightshift Are you a SQL Engineer who enjoys solving complex data problems, optimizing performance, and building reliable data systems at scale? We’re looking for someone who thrives in high-volume, data-driven environments and wants to make a real impact—supporting analytics, compliance, and mission-critical reporting systems. Responsibilities What You’ll Do: Database Development & Performance: Design and maintain SQL Server schemas, stored procedures, views, and functions Optimize complex queries across large, multi-program datasets Monitor and improve performance (indexes, execution plans, partitioning) Reporting & Data Support: Build reporting-ready datasets for dashboards, compliance, and analytics Support reporting tools like SSRS and Power BI Enable accurate tracking of performance, outcomes, and operational metrics Data Integrity & Compliance: Ensure data consistency and referential integrity Implement rules for auditability and compliance Work within regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA, SOC2) Integration & Data Movement: Collaborate with engineers on API-driven and application integrations Support data pipelines using ADF, Fabric, or similar tools Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes and data transformations Engineering Collaboration: Work in Agile teams with developers and product managers Follow best practices in code review, CI/CD, and version control Contribute to data architecture and modeling decisions Tools You’ll Work With: Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL) SSRS, Power BI Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory ETL/ELT pipelines Agile, CI/CD, version control Qualifications What We’re Looking For: Must-Have: 3–6+ years in SQL Development / Database Engineering Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, performance tuning) Experience with complex queries, stored procedures, and optimization Familiarity with ETL pipelines and reporting tools (SSRS, Power BI) Solid understanding of data modeling (transactional & reporting) Nice to Have: Experience with Azure SQL, Synapse, or Data Factory Exposure to data lakes / modern data platforms (Fabric, etc.) Background in healthcare, government, or compliance-heavy environments Experience with API integrations and data exchange Required Skills SQL, ETL Years of Experience Needed 4
