Description

Key Responsibilities Database Administration Manage installation, configuration, and upgrades of SQL Server (2016/2019/2022). Oversee instance-level settings, filegroups, and storage optimization. Performance Optimization Conduct query tuning using DMVs, Query Store, and execution plans. Implement indexing strategies and resolve parameter sniffing issues. High Availability & Disaster Recovery Design and maintain Always On Availability Groups, clustering, and log shipping. Execute DR drills and ensure compliance with RPO/RTO targets. Backup & Restore Define and enforce backup policies; validate restore processes regularly. Security & Compliance Implement TDE, role-based access, auditing, and encryption standards. Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal security policies. Automation & Scripting Develop PowerShell scripts for routine tasks and operational efficiency. Drive automation for monitoring, patching, and alerting. Cloud & Modernization Lead migrations to Azure SQL / AWS RDS / Managed Instance. Optimize cost and performance in hybrid/cloud environments. Incident & Change Management Handle P1/P2 incidents, root cause analysis, and preventive measures. Follow ITIL-based change control processes for deployments. Required Skills Expert-level knowledge of SQL Server architecture and internals. Strong experience in HA/DR, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation tool like Ansible. Familiarity with cloud platform AWS. Hands-on with SSIS, SSRS, and SQL Agent job management. Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
