YOUR OPPORTUNITY

We’re seeking a SQL Server Performance Engineer to help analyze and improve the scalability, concurrency, and operational reliability of our high-volume SQL Server systems deployed in Azure and AWS. This role is perfect for someone early in their career who’s eager to dive deep into performance bottlenecks, query tuning, and cloud database operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years working with Microsoft SQL Server in a developer, DBA, or analyst role
  • Solid understanding of T-SQL, execution plans, and query performance tuning

Familiarity with Azure SQL, Amazon RDS, or other cloud database platforms

  • Good problem-solving and communication skills

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Microsoft SQL Server Expertise: Strong proficiency in SQL and related database technologies
  • Knowledge of data and analytical cloud platform solutions
  • Knowledge of tools and techniques to analysis performance of SQL solutions.

SOFT SKILLS:

  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within a high-performing team
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, especially in client-facing interactions, with English as the primary language.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • A Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Science or a related field is required.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze and report on SQL Server performance across production and test environments
  • Investigate concurrency issues and recommend tuning strategies for optimal throughput
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database technologies to implement recommended performance improvements.
  • Monitor SQL Server health, including deadlocks, wait stats, and long-running queries
  • Assist in benchmarking and load testing to simulate large-scale workloads
  • Collaborate with senior architects and developers to design and implement improvements
  • Document findings and performance baselines for future analysis
  • Help automate monitoring and alerting tools in the cloud
