Role Description The Sr Accountant / Controller is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing Tugend’s financial operations and ensuring accurate, timely reporting. This role manages the general ledger, prepares monthly and annual financial statements, and maintains robust internal controls. Day-to-day work includes budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management, reconciliations, and monitoring expenses against budgets. The Sr Accountant / Controller will coordinate with leadership on financial planning, support audits, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. This position also contributes to improving financial processes, implementing best practices, and providing clear financial insights to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting and finance skills, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and financial planning.
• Knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls, and compliance with regulatory and tax requirements.
• Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet tools; ability to interpret and present financial data clearly.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a remote, cross-functional environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent credential is a plus.
• Prior experience as a senior accountant, controller, or similar role, ideally in mission-driven or creative organizations.
