Description Job Overview The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements. This role provides support for month-end and year-end close processes, audit preparation, and financial analysis. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with internal departments to enhance financial reporting accuracy and process efficiency. Additionally, this role will oversee incorporating continuous improvement by implementing integrations, automations, and process efficiencies. Supervisory Responsibilities May oversee and provide guidance to junior accountants and accounting clerks. Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy. Assist in the preparation and review of financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Manage month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring timely completion. Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing relevant financial data and analysis. Coordinate and support external audits and tax preparation, ensuring compliance with regulations. Review and improve internal controls and accounting processes to enhance efficiency. Oversee fixed asset accounting, including depreciation schedules and reconciliations. Assist in evaluating financial trends, variances, and risk management strategies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial policies and procedures are followed. Implement integrations, automations, and process efficiencies to improve financial operations. Competencies Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles. High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate with various departments. Required Skills/Abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle. Strong knowledge of financial analysis, reporting, and variance analysis. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred. 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the food service, retail, or manufacturing industry. Experience in public accounting is a plus. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional travel for audits, meetings, or training sessions. Work Environment Office-based with occasional visits to operational sites as needed. Fast-paced, collaborative work setting.
