This role will play a key part in managing monthly close responsibilities, streamlining reporting, and supporting audits and reconciliation processes. You’ll work both independently and collaboratively to ensure our books are clean, accurate, and ready for confident decision-making. This is a hybrid role with minimal in-office time—ideal for someone who’s self-motivated, tech-savvy, and ready to take ownership of their work. A Day in the Life You’ll start your day reviewing month-end timelines or reconciling key accounts. During close, you’ll be hands-on with journal entries, accruals, and cleanup tasks to help streamline reporting. Outside of close periods, you’ll focus on documentation, AP analysis, audit prep, and helping build scalable processes. You’ll touch multiple areas—from inventory and credit card coding to reporting and general ledger support—and collaborate with cross-functional teams to help ensure accuracy across the board. What You’ll Do Key responsibilities include: Own key aspects of the month-end close process, including journal entries and accruals Prepare and review account reconciliations, ensuring completeness, timeliness, and clarity Analyze and support accounts payable activity to establish consistency and future process development Assist with general ledger maintenance, including data cleanup and coding standards Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation and reporting Help document and improve accounting workflows, standard operating procedures, and controls Provide support and backup in areas such as fixed assets, credit card reporting, and policy reviews Collaborate across teams to support accurate financial data flow from systems to reporting Desired Attributes Beyond the qualifications, these traits make someone a great fit for our team: Highly self-motivated and takes ownership of your work Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Excellent time management skills and comfort with shifting priorities Creative thinker with a process improvement mindset Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Clear communicator, especially when explaining complex topics Resilient under deadlines and able to maintain focus in a fast-paced environment What Will Help You Stand Out Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Sage or similar accounting systems Familiarity with fixed asset platforms or subsidiary ledger integration Experience in a technology or telecommunications environment Exposure to audit processes, payroll support, or tax-related workflows CPA or working toward certification is a plus Why Join IdeaTek? Requirements What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3-5 years of professional accounting experience Strong experience with Google Sheets, Excel, or similar spreadsheet tools Familiarity with accounting subsystems such as AP, AR, fixed assets, or inventory Comfortable working in a remote/hybrid environment with minimal supervision
