Description

We are looking for an experienced, fluently bilingual Senior Accountant to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario. In this role, you will take the lead in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in financial reporting and reconciliation.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
  • Reconcile accounts, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations, to maintain financial integrity.
  • Manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Maintain and analyze the general ledger to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support financial audits and compliance activities.
  • Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP to streamline financial processes.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Generate detailed financial reports to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced accounting staff to foster growth and development.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a similar role with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in performing account, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and general ledger management.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing month-end close processes and journal entries.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
