SUMMARY:

Under general supervision of Accounts Payable Supervisor assist in coordination of daily activities to process check requests and invoices for payment. Perform essential functions of Accounts Payable Specialist.

EXPERIENCE:

Two years related experience with demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Participates with supervisor in development of work procedures recommends changes as appropriate to maximize efficient and effective use of resources.
In consultation with supervisor resolves problem invoices in timely manner; communicates with vendors to effect resolution.
Coordinates preparation of schedules documents and other data required for internal and external audits.
Assists in special projects and quality improvement teams as requested.
Assists Accounts Payable Specialists in routine processing activities during periods of backlog and at month-end to ensure timely closings.
Maintains established Brown University Health policies procedures objectives quality assurance safety environmental and infection control.
Performs other related duties as required.
Other information:BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of general office systems and accounts payable procedures such as gained through completion of introductory accounting/bookkeeping or business courses.
Familiarity with computerized systems including ability to operate personal computer.
