JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position will require 3 to 5 years of experience in a commodities settlement setting. In this position you will be responsible for payments to vendors in a timely manner along with answering any questions regarding the settlements. You will need to understand the basics of Rail freight, payments and rebates, wheat discounts and the basics of wheat trading. Grain Craft utilizes Tru Grain AKA Grain Smart and would prefer the applicant to have this experience but not mandatory. This position will require if there are any Tru Grain internal errors you will need to consult the IT specialist when needed. Future responsibilities may include platform pricing and exchanges, and position daily entries. Other duties may be assigned when needed.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
· 3 to 5 years of experience in a commodities settlement setting
· Willingness to learn and ask questions
· Strong communication and people skills
· Proactive problem-solving skills
· Intermediate competency in Microsoft Office, (MS work, Excel and Access).
· Multi-Tasking and Time management a must
· Be able to handle stress especially during harvest time.

· Daily entries of truck and rail applications, apply to contracts for prompt payments.
· Daily settlements of rail freight. Process any rail claims when needed.
· Respond to emails from vendors or brokers regarding issues with settlements, pricing, contract balances, grade factor and protein discounts.
· Prepare and submit daily settlements to Accounts Payable for next-day payments.
· Update and add new wheat discount’s, protein scales in TruGrain system.
· Review new vendors entered by corporate finance team that all information is added; liens. check off, ACH account and ABA numbers.
· Process rail car tracing when necessary.
· Process rail rebates, truck check off fees for settlement weekly/monthly/quarterly.
· Prepare reports when needed for vendors or internal persons or auditors.
· Review entries in Tru Grain at month end to make sure all trucks/rail applied or no outstanding issues.
· Understand the very basics of a wheat contract, ref months, trading months, Freight FOB vs. DLVD and basis contracts vs. priced contracts. Enter Wheat, flour, feed contracts when needed.
· Understand the beginning of trading, exchange for physical and exchange for Risk.
· Enter all day prior trades in Tru grain comparing broker statements with our sheets.
· Answer phones as back up for the trading group when busy or persons out of the office.
· Assist and back up duties for the Sr. Admin Settlement, Sr. Merchant Coordinator and the management team.
