The hired associate must reside within 35 miles of the following location(s):
Columbus: Three Nationwide Plaza, Columbus OH, 43215
This position will be hired on a Success Flex basis.
Work schedule: 2 days in office, 3 days remote.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
JOB SUMMARY: Administers activities related to assigned enterprise risk management or ceded reinsurance policies and procedures. Administers activities related to insurance or reinsurance program design, placement, administration, or claims recovery, reinsurance accounting and risk mitigation. Note-associates in this classification may specialize in corporate risk management, ceded reinsurance, reinsurance accounting, or reinsurance claims recovery; will typically be cross-trained on other functions

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to Manager/Director
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Undergraduate studies in business administration, finance, accounting or a related field preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Pursuit or attainment of insurance related designations such as IIA, CPCU, CLU, ARM, ARe preferred
Experience: Four years of experience in risk management, property and casualty insurance, or property and casualty claims or accounting.
Knowledge: Knowledge of risk management, property casualty insurance coverages or ceded reinsurance practices. Familiar with related accounting and finance practices, concepts, techniques.
Skills/Competencies: Analytical, technical and verbal/written communication abilities. Ability to understand and explain insurance/reinsurance issues. Clear and logical thought process, good decision-making ability.

Staffing Exceptions to the above Minimum Job Requirements must be approved by the: hiring manager’s leader and HRBP.
Administers the design, evaluation and implementation of insurance, reinsurance or alternative risk transfer programs. Provides data in support of rate and contract terms negotiation.
Supports the claims and/or premium administration and recovery operations to help ensure accurate, timely and complete communications with insurers, reinsurance and brokers in accord with contract requirements and in collaboration with various enterprise business units and staff offices. Assist in producing or verifying data and exhibits required for risk transfer or recovery submissions. Assists in Facultative reinsurance processing and accounting.
Supports corporate risk management or reinsurance policies and procedures to assure efficient and effective implementation of best practices. Assists in input of risk transfer terms in relevant systems and ensure appropriate accounting including recoveries.
Includes coordination with IT and Claims department.
Support activities regarding the planning, development and implementation of risk and loss prevention controls to ensure accurate claims handling, safety compliance, and risk management analysis. Supports preparation & review of risk transfer and recovery reports.
Supports recovery coordination, development and presentation of reinsurance claims training. Supports the development and maintenance of insurance and reinsurance claims reporting guidelines and communications to enterprise claims staff.
Monitors established enterprise security standards as they apply to the evaluation of insurer and reinsurance security and performance. Assists in the development, implementation, maintenance and administration of the corporate risk management and reinsurers information database.
Has contact with internal and external customers, consisting primarily of enterprise business units and staff offices, vendor systems, insurers, reinsurers and brokers.
Assists in administration of risk transfer attestation process or recovery requirements and interacts with internal/external auditors. Assists with responses to documentation requests from rating agencies and regulatory interrogatory exams and surveys.
Provides data and analysis in support of the negotiation of insurance and reinsurance placement and reinsurance recoveries. Participates in the negotiation for insurance and reinsurance placement including costs, terms, and conditions of coverage or in the arbitration, litigation or commutation of reinsurance claims as requested.
Supports contract negotiation and management of third party administrators. Administers loss mitigation work and activity with Associate Health Services, Safety and Facility management or other business unit as requested to reduce enterprise losses.
Participates in the development and attainment of team and department strategies, plans and objectives.
Participates in risk management and reinsurance projects. Helps project requirements, timelines, resources and budget. Assists with special projects and requests.
