Takes a lead role in providing outstanding legal service to clients by researching, reviewing, and analyzing information; drafting documents and organizing materials and managing resources for trial.   Coordinates necessary clerical functions regarding the organization of documents, deposition or trial preparation, or other litigation and discovery projects relevant to a case.   #LI-BE1 #LI-HYBRID Performs analytical functions such as searching, inventorying, summarizing, digesting and computer coding to assist in the preparation of legal documents. Assists in the direction of case work or discovery projects. Provides oversight in the training, work assignment, and quality control monitoring of temporary and other employees involved in electronic and hard copy document collection and review projects. Assists in the development of document collection and review project processes and procedures. Provides feedback to management and administration regarding potential productivity, efficiency and cost savings improvements. Takes an active, assertive role in cases or projects to provide effective team leadership for other analysts, paralegals, staff paralegals and other support staff. Takes an active interest and role in case and discovery theories and strategy. Communicates in an exemplary manner with clients, counsel, experts, witnesses, consultants, co-workers and other parties. Maintains a strong understanding of the relevant areas of scientific, legal, regulatory, technical, and industry expertise as it relates to firm clients and litigation. Analyzes information in conformance with case needs, allegations, themes and legal theories. Applies technical training and expertise to the issues and needs of the firm. Performs duties requiring paralegal experience to assist attorney in discovery projects, case preparation and trial. Provides leadership in case management to assist the attorneys in timely completion of assignments and in recognition of important issues and opportunities. Interviews witnesses and/or company employees. Updates clients and litigation teams regarding case status, litigation and discovery issues and assignments. Maintains calendar or tickler system, subject to case requirements. Keeps abreast of significant developments in areas of assigned responsibility and areas of expertise, in order to undertake assignments as appropriate. Understands the full scope of litigation and recognizes relevant information to a case when reviewing documents and/or testimony. Travels to clients' offices, vendors, trial locations and other locations with minimal notice; assists in the trials of cases and may direct other paralegal work during trial. Utilizes and has an understanding of litigation support and case management software, databases and internet sites as needed. Keeps track of time in specified intervals and turns in time records as instructed. Provides mentoring to analysts, paralegals, staff paralegals and other litigation support staff. Uses excellent verbal, written and communication skills, and is courteous and professional at all times. Keeps supervisor abreast of current issues and potential problems as they develop; seeks advice as needed. Operates office equipment such as PC's, phones, calculators and photocopy machines. Maintains a neat and orderly workplace. Follows adequate safety procedures while carrying out all duties. Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and/or paralegal certificate/degree and four to six years relevant experience and/or training, OR equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum of three consecutive years at Shook.
