Reporting to the Manager, Tax Compliance & Reporting Canada, the Senior Analyst will collaborate with the Canadian, US and International Tax teams as well as other teams cross-functionally, to help ensure we meet our Canadian tax reporting and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong Canadian tax technical skills, the ability to work well with different teams, and a proactive, hands-on approach to their work.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare Canadian income tax filings and remittances.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end tax provisions and working papers as required, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Ensure follow up of notice of assessments and investigate any discrepancies including preparation and recording adjusting journal entries.
  • Research technical issues regarding corporate income tax matters.
  • Support the team on all federal or provincial audits, including gathering information, addressing incoming correspondence and drafting responses to audit queries.
  • Assist with the completion of Scientific Research & Experimental Development claims including preparation of supporting working papers.
  • Assist in the preparation of management fee allocations and other intercompany reporting as required.
  • Maintain knowledge with respect to technical tax issues and accounting standards.
  • Identify process automation opportunities and implement technology solutions. Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work process.
  • Comply with company standards, policies, controls, and procedures pertaining to appropriate conduct for employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.
