Overview Analyzes, documents, designs, and programs Clinical Information System applications, provides enhancements and maintains current applications to meet the needs of clinicians in providing quality, cost effective care. Qualifications Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:Education:Require Bachelor's degree in clinical area or equivalent clinical field, informatics, or healthcare from an accredited college or university. License/certification in clinical field of expertise required. Entry level for Master's preparation in related field with certification in clinical field of competency required. Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.Experience:5+ years of inpatient hospital clinical experience. Demonstrated competencies in the following GE/CE or related health care systems training: Systems fundamentals, Internet or advanced language coding in field of expertise, project management and leadership, visual C++, Visual Basic, Java (beginning knowledge of at least one language) or equivalent advanced language coding in field of expertise, mentoring, system development competency and responsibilities, research on systems applications, fiscal responsibility, professional affiliation/leader/certification, customer service leadership, educator advancement level with completion of, and demonstrated competencies in the following health care systems training/experiences: Systems fundamentals, Basic matrix coding, Basic Toolbook/CBT development, Internet or advanced language coding, Development of education plans, Educator competencies relating to GE/CE functions, Project management and leadership, Visual C++, Visual Basic, Java (beginning knowledge of at least one language), Mentoring, System development participation and responsibilities, Research contribution on systems applications, Fiscal responsibility, Professional affiliation/leader/certification and customer service.Additional skills/abilities:Requires excellent oral and written communication skills plus well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to manage and appropriately prioritize multiple assignments in a stressful work environment. Knowledge of current standards, legislation, practices, delivery systems, documentation methods and trends in medicine.
