On behalf of our utilities client, Procom is searching for a Senior Business Analyst for a 12-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Calgary or Edmonton office.

SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST, DATA AND ANALYTICS SOLUTIONS - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Data & Analytics team is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to contribute to enterprise data initiatives, focusing on requirements gathering, solution design, and stakeholder engagement. This role involves working on data lakehouse/data lakes projects using Agile methodology.

SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST, DATA AND ANALYTICS SOLUTIONS - MANDATORY SKILLS:

• Data Lakehouse/Data Lakes experience
• Strong business analysis and documentation skills
• Agile methodology experience
• Ability to liaise between business and technical teams
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills
• Familiarity with data governance and analytics platforms

SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST, DATA AND ANALYTICS SOLUTIONS – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

• Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA)
• Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions
• Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts
• Exceptional analytical and statistical skills
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

• Collaborate with project sponsors to determine project scope and vision.
• Clearly identify project stakeholders and establish user classes, as well as their characteristics.
• Conduct interviews to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
• Identify and establish scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
• Work with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements.
• Collaborate with Data architects and Engineers to document the proposed solutions to meet business needs.
• Create and maintain documentation for data and analytics solutions, products, and processes.
