Responsibilities

As our Senior Benefits and Leave Administrator, you will play a critical role in supporting Utz Quality Food’s employee health and welfare programs. This position is responsible for coordinating and administering all aspects of employee leave programs—including FMLA, ADA, parental, and personal leaves—and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The role also supports benefits administration, including health, dental, vision, disability, and prescription plans. This position serves as a key liaison between employees, managers, healthcare providers, and third-party administrators, ensuring a seamless and compliant leave and benefits experience.

  • Coordinate and administer all types of employee leaves of absence (FMLA, ADA, parental, personal, and medical).
  • Initiate and manage leave documentation, including eligibility notices, designation letters, and return-to-work clearances.
  • Monitor leave timelines and proactively follow up with employees and managers.
  • Facilitate the interactive process for ADA accommodations and ensure proper documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records in the leave management system (e.g., WPA) and ensure timely updates.
  • Communicate with healthcare providers and third-party administrators as needed.
  • Provide guidance to employees and managers on leave policies and procedures.
  • Assist with employee benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, and benefit continuation during leaves.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits eligibility, claims, and coverage.
  • Coordinate with other Benefits Administrator and external vendors to resolve benefit-related issues.
  • Support open enrollment activities and ensure accurate documentation and communication.
  • Process government forms and notices (e.g., Qualified Medical Support Notices, Social Security forms).
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FMLA, ADAAA, and other applicable laws.
  • Stay current on regulatory changes and recommend updates to leave and benefits policies.
  • Collaborate with legal and risk teams on complex leave and accommodation cases.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data integrity in all employee records.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave and benefits.
  • Provide clear, empathetic, and timely communication throughout the leave process.
  • Educate employees on their rights and responsibilities under applicable laws and company policies.
  • Partner with HR colleagues to ensure consistent and compliant practices across the organization
