About the role You will be an individual contributor in BI Engineering team within Visa’s Global Data organization, reporting to the Lead, Data Insights Studio. You will operate from our Global Shared Services hub in Bengaluru, partnering with internal analytics teams to deliver high-impact BI solutions across products and markets. You will turn Visa’s rich datasets (billions of cards, hundreds of billions of transactions annually) into actionable insights that drive business value. Primary responsibilities Partner with the BI Engineering Manager and internal analytics stakeholders to turn ambiguous needs into measurable outcomes and data products. Visualize data with the right charts and narratives to deliver actionable insights. Design, build, and maintain databases and data models for dashboards. Test, and optimize data warehouses/lakes, including metadata and repositories for dashboards and reports. Build reliable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest and standardize data from diverse sources. Develop BI solutions, semantic models, and KPI measures from raw data. Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in leading BI tools. Lead QA and bug triage, documenting issues and prioritizing fixes by business impact. Tune performance across data models, queries, and dashboards for speed and reliability. Automate extraction, transformation, testing, and deployment with CI/CD to accelerate releases. Enforce data security, compliance, and access controls across BI platforms. Administer BI/visualization platforms, monitor health, and act on usage insights. Deploy dashboards to production per user requirements and VISA standards. Document architectures, processes and technical/data; keep all artifacts current and accessible through version control. Note: This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. Qualifications Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a BI Engineer / data visualization analyst or similar role for 3-5+ years Familiarity with shared services, consulting, financial services is a strong plus. Knowledge of data visualization tool ecosystem Technical skill BI Tool: Expert in Tableau and Power BI, including enterprise dashboarding, advanced analytics, and embedded delivery. Programming & Data Processing: Strong SQL, PySpark; experience with Hadoop, AWS EMR, NoSQL databases. Data Pipelines & Orchestration: Proficient with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration, data quality, and performance optimization. DevOps for BI: Skilled in Git/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and automated BI asset testing. Front-End & Advanced Visualization: Familiar with React, micro‑frontends, and MicroStrategy Strategic and Functional Excellence Make insights usable-craft clear, performant dashboards and semantic layers that answer real business questions. Guard the gate-enforce access controls, governance, and privacy by default across data and BI tools. Automate - standardize and script data pipelines, testing, and deployments to reduce toil and errors Ensure accuracy – apply automated validation, reconciliation, and monitoring to maintain integrity and consistency across data and reports, enabling trusted, confident decision‑making A professional capacity for strong enthusiasm and accountability High attention to detail and quality Highly adaptive, comfortable working within a complex and often ambiguous, environment.
